Money saving tips
"penny-pinching" is part of a way of life that includes concern for the world around us though the term could be downright stinginess. Here are 10 ideas to save your money and be prosperous in the new year.
Do not complain
* Do not waste your hard earned money to purchase something unsatisfactory, which you may later complain about.
* If you are about to buy something which isn't a necessity, wait four days before you make the purchase. Take time to compare prices elsewhere, or to come up with an alternative, or even to decide on the necessity for buying it.
Follow your finances
* Balance your bank statement; do a bank balance, or reconciliation, to your own record. Work out how much money you have each month.
* Keep a record of every single penny you spend for at least one month, of course, you will learn a lot!
* Get every last drop out of citrus fruits with your hands, back and forth on the worktop surface before squeezing it to get more juice.
Watch the interest
* When you see advertised as 0% interest, it simply means that the cost of the interest is in the purchase price, If you are in a position to pay cash, ask for this money back.
Stop running
* The life of your tights can be prolonged if you wash them before you wear them, preferably by hand using soap; Plunge the tights into lukewarm water, then rub the soap on to your hands, not directly on to the tights, with sudsy lather gently wash them with a squishing, not rubbing, motion. Rinse thoroughly, blot with a towel and let them dry naturally.
Tin tactics
* Use small tins for paint instead of dipping your brush into the big tin. You will waste less paint on the small tin than you will by letting the big tin dry out or get dirty
Hit the keys
* If you have a computer at home you can save money by using the spreadsheet to help with budgeting, Keeping your bank balance on it and even storing good recipes and using them and most of all you may not forget important dates.
Look at the packaging
* Cereal boxes can be used as file-holders, by cutting off the top and trimming the sides down at an angle, or can be used turned sideways. The bags inside cereal boxes can be used for storing breads and for using in the freezer. They can be washed and used again for storing food, unless for poultry products.
